Welcome to The Coop, our backyard oasis. This beautiful modest backyard bungalow is situated in the Westbrae neighborhood of Berkeley CA. With a walking score of 85, you can walk to local shops such as Monterey Market and Headlands Beer Garden as well as BART (our local subway system that can whisk you off to San Francisco and beyond) and with a little longer walk the Gourmet Ghetto where you find world famous Chez Panis & The Cheese Board Collective.

The Coop has all the comforts of home with a well equipped kitchen, soaker bathtub, bidet w/ heated seat, large garden deck.

This property is on a level lot with easy flat walk in and out - no steps.

The living space has an open floor plan, cathedral ceilings with a tri-fold door that opens all the way to enjoy indoor/outdoor living. The bedrooms are modest and charming.

This home was custom built in 2019. I am an architect and designed the home for my wife and I to eventually move into from the larger front house. I built the house with a general contractor friend so, needless to say, a lot of attention was put into the details. Radiant heat in the smooth concrete floors, tri-fold La Cantina door, beautiful Jøtul fireplace, in-unit laundry, fully equipped kitchen and rich exposed wood details.

Soccer Tournament Games: Our house is in Berkeley, CA across the bay from San Francisco and about 1 hour away by car. There also public transit via BART to Milpitas station then catch a 10 min bus right to Levi Stadium in Santa Clara (we are a 10 min walk to the BART station), this takes about 2 hours and costs about $10.

NOTE: We are restricted to 30 day or more rental (no short term rentals allowed) so, the house is available for the month of June even though the soccer tournament games are during the later half of the month.
